Weekly winners

This is a very special photo shoot I made with my cat this morning.

Drinking coffee together ( well, I'm the one who drinks the coffee of course!)
in the morning is part of our morning ritual.
I have to go by her rules, she's very meticulous about certain things.

I have to wear that old ragged yellow bathrobe for instance!
If I wear anything else she refuses to join me.
As soon as she hears that the coffee is ready she comes up to the kitchen and jumps on my lap.
This is a sacred moment for both of us.
That cuddling, hugging, purring cat actually talks to me,
and lets me know how much se loves me.
Even my husband has never witnessed this,
as soon as she hears anything, she runs off, and the magic is gone.

So this morning I took my camera and tried to capture
this sweet intimite magical moment...

I 'll make this my Weekly Winners entry for this week.
I've made lots of other pictures, maybe even better ones than these,
but I don't want to break the spell by adding anything else ...

  1. I totally get it. I have a kitty just like that and others special in different ways, but not quite that way. Awesome, awesome pictures!

  2. Thank you Maggie! I've made so many other pictures this week, but none of them compare to this special moment! I had to delete quite a lot of them too, you know, but hey? Loved doing that one!

  3. You asked on my blog, and yes, I decorated a bit early for Christmas (though many here do start shortly after Thanksgiving in late November). And still not smoking, of course ;)

  4. Great!( The non smoking I mean!)
I thought I had already seen Christmas decorations on blogs at the end of November, that would be way too early for us,you know!
There's even a campaign on the radio, to not put it up before the 15th of december? How weird is that, huh?

  7. Ha, Rex acts like I'm his lord and savior...till I feed him, then he could care less, unless he wants a treat.

  8. Are you sure the kitty is not talking to your robe? Hehe, just kidding.

I'd like to see the pictures you would get if the cat DID drink coffee!

    ;-P

    Thanks for playing again!

  9. Thank you for sharing this special moment. I'm impressed that you were able to get both you and kitty in the shot and set it all up before you had your coffee! Excellent work. ;) Also, your blog is looking good. Did you put a new header up this week? (or am I just more observant than I was last week?)

  10. Ahhhh... so that's how you get your cat to sit still for the camera, you bribe him with caffeine. LOL. Gonna have to try that with my Mrs. Darcy.

    What fabulous memories!

  12. @ Nancy:
I took the pictures while having coffee!! Camera in one hand, and the cat on my arm! We had fun!
And, yes, I did change the header, and I might change it again, I don't know? How good of you to see that!

@ Judith:Looking forward to see your pictures with Mrs. Darcy, what a cute name, by the way!

I also love the kitchen in your photos...we lived in Germany and the Netherlands, and seeing a European kitchen reminds me of those times.

  19. I have felt like I was really slow this year because I haven't started decorating yet. Then I noticed the date. I never decorate this early! I think part of the problem is that the Christmas displays went up in the stores before Halloween. After 6 weeks of seeing Christmas everywhere you start to feel like you should be doing something.

I like the pictures of your cat. I don't have a cat and probably never will, but I am learning to appreciate other people's kitties. One of the websites I visit regularly posts Weekend Cat Blogging and I have come to look forward to that. I visit the other blogs via the links provided and see how all the kitty-cats are doing each week. My sister has a cat, Spanky. Sometimes I wonder how Sis ever survived without Spanky to bring love and laughter into her life.

  20. Cats are so particular, but I love that about them. And because cats don't bother with you unless they want to, I always take is as a compliment that my little guy likes spending time with me. We also have little rituals, so I understand what you mean by "sacred". She has a very similar face to my cat - it's those great big eyes!
