Tackle it Tuesday, Never Can Say Goodbye...

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

It was on my things to do list a couple of weeks ago and I did it!

I did it!

Spring must be getting at me, all I want ( besides blogging)
is to have things neat and organized right now!
I must admit, the support of all you other tacklers out there
is a great incentive.
This job had been waiting for me for years.
Every year, I washed and ironed all my clothes,
over and over again, and I could never bring myself to get rid of them.
"What if you loose weight again?" I said to myself.
" You should, you know!" another voice whispered.
Okay, three years ago, I lost quite a lot of weight.
That was the positive part of the health problems I had,
I started to loose weight without much effort,
and I bought a whole new wardrobe.
(It was fun buying clothes back then. )
But then I quit smoking, and one by one,
they ( the kilo's, the weight) all came back to me!

They even invited a few friends, duh!

I wanted to make stacks, Trinny and Susannah style,
you know .. yes ... no ... maybe.
Instead, I emptied the dresser on the bed
and I was faced with the huge task of trying everything on,
evaluating everything ... and finally saying goodbye to stuff
that had been lingering on for years and years!

free music

I have added some music here.
Click on the button to get into the groove, yeah!
It kind of dates the era of my clothes.
Music like that is perfect if you're cleaning, I always find it helps ...
I need all the help I can get doing chores like this!
Anyway.

I took one last photograph of my hand-knitted sweater,
I knitted it twenty five years ago, and maybe wore it twice?
Could never say goodbye to it, it was the first thing I ever knitted!

From then on, things started to look better.
Exept for my handbags, they were all over the place.
And then I remembered that old vintage suitcase I had, that would be perfect!
By now, the Martha Stewart in me was wide awake.
I polished the suitcase with some old fashioned bees wax,

and filled a cotton bag with dried lavender flowers,
and some essence to perfume the inside of the suitcase.

Perfect, isn't it?
As for the shoes ...

I found this, it's on wheels, and it slides under the furniture.
That makes it very easy to vacuum and get rid of the dust bunnies!

There, I'm so glad that's over with!
Let's see what the other tacklers have done?

Tackle it Tuesday, my Patio

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I find it very inspiring to join Tackle it Tuesday.
Looking at other people's tackles makes my hands itch
to get a couple of projects done myself.
(And there's always the odd new trick to learn too.)
Once they are done I can share them on my blog,
and then people from the other side of the world
comment on it and say " well done"! Hehehehe!
Isn't that the greatest award a woman can get?

I did some gardening last week.
You see, I don't have a real garden, it's a patio.
All of my plants live in pots,
and we store them behind bubble plastic frames
to keep them from freezing during winter.

We removed the frame a couple of weeks ago.
Soon after that we got our first snow of the year! Yep!

Instead of getting planted, my violets got snow!
I know, should have waited a little while longer,
but I'm always too impatient for spring to arrive.
Anyway, it started really getting cold,
I didn't feel like doing much gardening anymore,
and for weeks on end it looked like a mess!

Until last week when I finally got started.
First thing I did was clearing the table and give it a good rinse.

And then potted my plants on it!
I know, I know, I do everything backwards,
but what do expect ?
I was born backwards, so ... ?

Anyway ...
I cleaned the floor, decluttered the corner in the back,
got rid of all of the plastic containers,

and even found little hidden treasures !
Forget-me-nots!
Well, they didn't forget to bloom now, did they?

Even the sun enjoyed it ...
That's when I met this little hairy fellow ...

A couple of hours later, it looked like this.
Above is the view from my kitchen to the right.

To the left ...
Went to the florist to get "the finishing touch"
and planted those too!

My old ladders are waiting for the succulents
to come out of their winter hiding place inside.

And my violets finally got their home ...

Tackle it Tuesday, done on a Thirsday ...

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Every once and a while a girl needs a little incentive.
So I decided to join in again this week,
I find it very inspiring to watch other people work, (hehe!)
so I thought I'd share some of the chores I tackled recently.

I had an endless list of things to do two weeks ago Thirsday,
but I managed to tackle them all...

1. Write a post for this blog.
2. Blog another one for the next day.
#1 and #2, well hey I managed to post something
every day for four months now, it's not always easy!
I guess it's no big deal huh?
3. Wash all the curtains in my living room.
Four floor-to-ceiling ones! AND iron them as well!
4. Iron the tablecloth and seat covers from my kitchen.
5. Vacuum the whole appartment.
6. Dust the furniture.
7. Clean all of the floors.
I've done them all and even managed to take pictures while doing so!

8. Iron my husband's trousers.
This one had to wait until the next Sunday morning, when I made his suitcase!
9. Bake a bread. Done, although I do use the "all-in-one flour" lately!
All I have to do is add some water, knead ... rise .. done!
Gives me some extra blogging time!
10. Reorganize one of my kitchen drawers.
There's a before and after in the slide show!
11. Do some shopping.
12. Prepare a meal for tonight.
I skipped the shopping and defrosted a meal out of the freezer!
Don't look at me like that, the meal was homecooked!
A little while ago that is? !!! Nothing wrong with that is there?
13. Empty the dishwasher.
It was already empty, so that one was easy!
But I filled it up again. That counts doesn't it?

Anyway, I even managed to make some yoghurt too!
And check the fridge.
I was exhausted but it was worth it,
and the next day I could take my sister
for a cup of coffee and do a little discovery tour around Antwerp!
Care to walk with us?
Click this link!
Let's go do some sight seeing in Antwerp !

Oh and don't forget to give your support
to the other players as well!

Tackle it Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Tackle it Tuesday, why not?
Exept ... I may have tackled this the wrong way around?
You see, my washing machine passed away last week.

She was a faithful servant for more than twenty years.

As it happens, I cleaned and organized my laundry room the week before she died.
Can you see how well organized everything is?

And now I had to take everything out again ...

And now it looks like this ...

Clean, and empty ...
But the other rooms ... My guest room now looks like this? Aaarggh!

I guess this looks even worse?
Same mess, different angle!

And my living room looks like this!
OMG!
It was tidy,
and now the place is a mess!
That's me.... I think I tackled it the wrong way?

Update:
Posted 8:30 PM

The new beauty has arrived this morning
and I have reorganized the laundry/storage room.

I bought some more storage baskets.
It's much easier to clean and it saves space.
I put related items together, so it saves me a lot of time when I make a shopping list.

The box with the red top is also on wheels,
cleaning the floor will be very easy in the future.
It can be used as a table for the baskets I use for my storage.

And now ....
Drumroll please!!!tata- tatata-ri-tatààààà!!!
Isn't she gorgeous?
I'm so happy!
