Wordless Wednesday, Absolutely Wordless!

No words needed ...

Well, that's what I thought in the first place,
but reading the comments I think
this does need a little bit of explanation after all!

Trouville is the name of the town where this picture was taken.
It's a town on the Côte Fleurie, Normandy,in the North of France.
I looked up and I saw exactly the same bird on top of that "cartoon".
I thought this was funny, am I the only one?

Quilly's ABC

I'm joining Quilly's ABC photo meme today, I think it's a great idea.
As some of you might know, I live in Belgium.
My native speech is Dutch, and by writing a post
on this blog every day ( I joined 365)
I'm trying to improve my writing and my spelling.
And I'm trying to learn a few new words every day, so ...
Taking pictures is one of my favourite hobbies,
what more would I want?

So, without further ado ...

F is for .... flabbergasted...
I like that word!

I think this one illustrates the word just about right?
It's my little nephew, he was counting his money!

Look for other ABC players here, it's fun!

Fun Monday My hero

This week's fun Monday is being hosted by
Kitten

Our assignment for this week is…
Tell me about the Super Hero in your life.
Not from TV, but anyone that has been or is in your life
that you have really looked up to
or has made a impact on your life.
It can be one or many.
You can share pictures if you like. Just have fun with it.

I have this feeling that I'm not going to be the only one
stating the hero in my life is my sweet husband, but to me he is!

The moment I saw him for the first time
I had this strange feeling of recognition.
Although I had never met him before,
I still had the feeling that I knew who he was,
a feeling of belonging too.
We've gone through hard times before we finally could be together,
we had to fight for each other in every possible way.
And believe me, they did not grant it easy to us ....

Our life together has not always been a bed of roses either,
we've had to overcome some pretty nasty setbacks together.
But everything we went through, we went through it together.
And we came out stronger. Together.

He always stood up for me, protected me, loved me.
Even after so many years, he can still surprise me.
He's not the kind of man that comes home
with a huge bouquet of flowers every week, he never did that.
But instead, he'll surprise me with just the right thing I need,
and that can be anything, a new battery for my camera,
or new bookshelves for my computer corner, anything ...

I love him.
He is
my hero!

Weekly Winners, St.-Valéry sur Somme

Our first stop on the way to Normandy
was in St.- Valéry sur Somme,
a pretty village in the bay of the Somme.

There is a harbour ...

and the boats on the beach ...
Look, there in the distance

you can see the sheep grazing on the salty banks of the river.

Let's go into town ...

The sea is never far though ...

it's even in the colour of the houses ...

There was a pretty picture behind every corner ...

Come with me ...

I'll take you to the old part of town ...
In this ruin Joan of Arc was held in prison on her way to her trial.

Through the gate, towards the old church ...

I was looking for gargoiles but I didn't find any ...

or did I?
Maybe these will do?

This was quite a walk we've done here,

are you hungry yet?

This is merely half of the pictures I took during this walk,
and only a tiny fragment of the total amount of pictures
I took in Normandy. It's such a beautiful country ...
There is more to come, I promise ...

Meanwhile, don't forget to visit the others at
the homeblog of Weekly Winners!
See you!

Photohunt "Time"

This week's photohunting theme is " time".

Time is hard to capture in a picture I think.
All I know is it always goes by too fast ....
(especially when you're on holliday!)

This is the clock in my kitchen.
The one I look at the most when I am home.
The one that tells me to hurry up and go to work,
but also the one that says time goes by too quickly
when I have my day off ...

The old kitchen ustensils hanging next to it
speak of time gone by ...

The Normandy Bridge

On our way to Normandy, we will have to cross this bridge,
Le Pont de Normandy, a bridge over the Seine.
It's just beautiful and I'm very much looking forward to see it.
With this video from You Tube, I can share it with all of you.
Enjoy!

I hope the weather is fine, and that we can come back
with our own pictures of the Normandy Bridge!
See you!
